Nicole Miller Hawker

Providing communications solutions for businesses, non-profits and government agencies for more than 20 years, Nicole’s expertise is built from working for some of the top public relations and public affairs firms in the Tampa Bay region. Her experience spans several industries including transportation, water and wastewater infrastructure, drinking water supply, utilities, real estate development, public broadcasting, retail and professional services. She has worked on several high-profile projects and for prominent organizations including General Motors, Verizon, BP, Quarles & Brady, Florida Public Broadcasting, WUSF Public Media, Kimmins Contracting, Garney Construction, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Tampa Bay Water, Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, City of Tampa, City of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County.

Nicole is actively involved in the community. She is an alumnus of Leadership Tampa Bay’s Class of 2007 and Leadership Tampa’s Class of 2017. She has served as a volunteer with various organizations including Leadership Tampa Bay, Leadership Tampa, Roland Park K-8 School for International Studies PTSA and Hyde Park United Methodist Church. Lisa Plawchan

Lisa Plawchan, Director of Public Affairs & Strategic Engagement, is a communications strategist, specializing in public involvement, issues management and grassroots campaign development. For more than 15 years, Lisa has led corporate, government and non-profit clients in community outreach, communications planning, brand development, media relations and stakeholder engagement. Whether creating an education outreach campaign or building consensus with diverse stakeholders, her out-of-the box, holistic thinking consistently produces win-win results.  

Deciding to hit pause on corporate life, Lisa worked Knox County Schools assisting high school students with disabilities in career and life planning for their future. Her passion for empowering youth guided her in enhancing the School to Work Grant program, resulting in more students exploring college and career paths, finding a job and strengthening self-advocacy skills.   

Lisa volunteers with Girl Talk’s Life Prep Academy, Junior Achievement and the KCS 865 Academies, in an effort to continue creating opportunities for youth success. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University, and has lived and worked in Chile, China and the Netherlands.
